There are a couple of things that you should do to make your vehicle ready for transport:

• Make sure that the car engine, tires, brakes, and all safety equipment are functioning properly.
• Deactivate all of your vehicle’s anti-theft devices and remove any exterior antennas, if any.
• Check all truck bed liners and shells – they should be secured for transport.
• Notify our agent about items that change car dimensions, if any (running boards, luggage racks, fog lights, etc.).
• Remove all portable interior accessories.
• Make sure that there is no damage or repair in convertible tops (where applicable).
• Examine battery, brakes, transmission fluid, anti-freeze, and check if there are any fluid leaks. Check the air pressure in the tires.
• Make sure you have no more than 100 lbs of your personal belongings inside the vehicle in the trunk or in the backseat below the window level, make sure there are no oil leaks, and that the battery is fully charged.
• Remove valuables.
• Leave approximately a quarter tank of fuel.
• Provide a working key.
• Take clear photos before pickup.
• Carefully review the Bill of Lading before signing it.

It is important to do all of the above in order to avoid shipment delays and extra transportation costs.

Yes, you can store your personal items in your vehicle. However, make sure they weigh no more than 100 lbs put in the trunk or, if they don’t fit, below the window level in the rear seat of the vehicle. If it’s more than 100 lbs, notify us before we start looking for a driver. This will help avoid unpleasant surprises. The driver may take your personal items only if you have a prior agreement with a dispatcher before the pickup date.

The carrier might charge extra if your personal items weigh more than 100 lbs or what you specified. Besides, some drivers would even refuse to pick up the vehicle and cancel the dispatch resulting in such fees as administration fee, and/or cancellation fee, and/or dry-run fee, and/or no-load fee, whichever is applicable. Therefore, we strongly recommend putting no more than 100 lbs of your items, or notifying us of any personal/ extra items in the vehicle well in advance as detailed above. Please note that due to DOT regulations only the vehicle is insured during the transportation, while any personal/extra items are not.

There is no fixed rate for car shipping services as such. The price is based on a number of parameters:

• Vehicle dimensions;
• Vehicle weight;
• Vehicle condition;
• Vehicle add-ons, if any.

Such factors as route mileage, driver availability, weather conditions, etc. are also important. As you can see, there are many variables determining the cost of the service. Therefore, we recommend that you contact our logistics specialists to receive accurate pricing.

At ABC Car Shipping, we try to transport vehicles door to door in the shortest time possible. However, there is no specific time frame that is applicable to all orders. Different transit times are estimated for different regions. As a rule, our drivers cover around 400 miles a day, however, your logistics specialist can advise you on the estimated pick up and drop off dates for your vehicle. 

Yes, vehicle height and weight affect auto transportation costs. Since trucks are larger and weigh more, they cost more to transport. It’s as simple as that. Besides, not all trucks fit on regular auto transport trailers, which might be another reason for a higher price.

It is highly recommended to schedule a pick-up for your vehicle at least 2 days in advance if you choose the open carrier option. In case you select the enclosed carrier option, notify us no later than 4 days prior to the actual pick-up date. However, feel free to let us know if you need a rush / urgent / emergency service and we’ll do our best to help you with same day or next day pick-ups.

You or your designated responsible party should be present at the pick-up. Notify us if you are not available or if you don’t want to designate a responsible party. Please also make sure that the chosen individual is of legal age and has a valid driving license for identity verification purposes if needed.

The Bill of Lading is the condition report completed when your vehicle is picked up and delivered. Check that all existing damage is recorded before signing it at pickup. At delivery, inspect the vehicle carefully with the driver present and record any new damage on the Bill of Lading before signing.

One of our trusted carriers will pick up your car at the given address and deliver it to the agreed destination so that you don’t have to travel to the drop-off location. However, some car shipping trailers are extremely large and require a great deal of space so a driver might ask you to meet them at the nearest parking lot. Make sure to clarify these details with our logistics agents before the pick-up and delivery of your vehicle.

The payment is divided into two parts: 

1. partial amount is charged to your card on file once the vehicle is picked up (we accept major credit cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, as well as Zelle when other payment methods are not available), and
2. remaining balance is due at the time of delivery and payable to the driver by cash, money order, cashier’s check or company check.

There are both open and enclosed transport options at your disposal. The first option works best for those who want to save money on their transport. In case you are looking for indoor shipping of your vehicle that protects your car from weather conditions, preference should be given to enclosed carriers. Of course, the price will be higher, but you will know what you are paying for.
